BIOFACH CHINA 2026 is scheduled to run from May 18 to 20 at Hall E6 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The organisers are expecting 15,000 professional visitors across 12,000 square metres of exhibition space, with more than 230 confirmed exhibitors from China and overseas.
This year's event carries the theme "Forge Ahead." According to the organisers, 36% of participating exhibitors are first-time participants at the show. The organisers also note that exhibitor sales are nearing capacity.

The show takes place against a notable market backdrop: by 2025, China had issued over 6.66 billion organic certification labels, and the country ranks as the world's third-largest organic consumer market.
A Show That Reflects Where the Industry Is Heading
BIOFACH CHINA has always served as something of a barometer for the trends shaping organic consumption in China, and the 2026 edition is no different. Three thematic threads run through the exhibitor floor this year, and each of them speaks to a broader shift in how Chinese consumers are approaching food.
The first is the deepening convergence of food and functional wellness — what the organisers frame as "Food as Medicine." This is not a new conversation in China, where traditional medicinal concepts have long shaped dietary culture, but its presence on the organic trade show floor is growing more formal. First-time exhibitor Longxi Baohetang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will bring organic medicinal herbs including Huangjing, Astragalus, and Codonopsis, while Dalian Bainian Fishing Port Aquatic Products Co., Ltd. makes a push into marine organics with organic sea cucumber. The superfood category is also getting a notable moment: organic prickly pear, or cactus fruit, which reportedly contains ten times more Vitamin C than kiwi, will be showcased by both returning category leader Guizhou Shan Wang Guo Industrial Co., Ltd. and newcomer Chungui Healthcare Technology Co., Ltd., exhibiting its organic golden prickly pear varieties for the first time.
The second trend is convenience. The emergence of organic ready-to-consume formats is a reflection of how health-conscious consumption is adapting to modern urban lifestyles in China. Guizhou Jinchen Tea Development Co., Ltd. will launch an organic ready-to-drink tea aimed at bridging traditional tea culture with on-the-go demand. From Sri Lanka, Shengda Industrial Company (Pvt) Ltd. will introduce organic coconut water — a low-GI, natural electrolyte product that fits squarely within the global momentum around proactive health maintenance.
The third thread, and arguably the most strategically significant for international readers of this publication, is the expansion of the International Pavilion.

International Pavilion
The 2026 international lineup spans Germany, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Turkey, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and more — and several of these are inaugural national presences at the show.
Germany returns with a national pavilion covering organic chocolate, protein powders and shakes, children's noodles and fruit purées, superfoods, and natural cleaning products. A Sino-German exchange panel has also been announced, with details to follow. More significantly for the show's growing international footprint, Bulgaria joins for the first time, bringing organic jams, juices, tahini, and other innovations, and Turkey makes its debut with a cross-continental offering of organic grains, nuts, dried fruits, juices, smoothies, and fruit purées.
In the Asia category, the Philippines enters with a dedicated country pavilion highlighting its complete coconut product chain through multiple exhibitors. Cambodia is represented by Huzhou Sela Food Co., Ltd. with premium organic black pepper, and Brazil's Jalles Machado S/A — described as South America's leading organic sugar producer — will bring South American organic agriculture to a Chinese trade floor for the sector to evaluate directly.
For buyers and distributors in China, this international spread represents a genuinely useful sourcing opportunity in a single venue. For international producers, it represents direct access to one of the world's fastest-growing organic consumer bases.

Programme Highlights
The headline knowledge event is the release of the "2026 China Household Organic Dietary Consumption Trends White Paper," scheduled for the afternoon of May 18. This follows the first edition of China's organic consumer white paper, which was released at last year's event, and is being developed in collaboration with global market research institutions. For anyone trying to understand where Chinese organic consumption is heading and how to position products accordingly, this is required reading delivered in real time.
On May 19, the "Organic Link" matchmaking event — now relocated to the exhibition centre itself — will facilitate direct connections between producers and buyers. It is the first Organic Link event of 2026, and registration for producers and buyers was open via the official website until April 20. Also on May 19, the Open Course on Organic Dynamics returns for its second year, offering what the organisers describe as systematic case studies covering farm operations, brand building, local market penetration, and industry expansion — a practical, replicable business model framework. It is worth noting this session is open to domestic exhibitors and visitors only.
The opening ceremony on May 18 will include the announcement of the Organic Power Awards 2026, recognising China's leading organic enterprises and connecting them with international partners and collaborators.
The main forum, themed "Global Vision, Local Roots," will convene on May 18 afternoon and May 19 morning, with Chinese regulatory experts addressing new organic certification rules and market trends, and international speakers offering cross-border partnership perspectives. A Sustainability Forum presented by Ecocert China is confirmed for May 19, with further announcements expected through official channels.
